On 2 December 1981 a group of expatriates in Addis Ababa, including teachers at Sanford English Community School, set and ran a Hash, and the Addis Ababa Hash House Harriers was born. The first AAHHH Newsletter appeared in January 1982, setting forth a schedule of runs through mid-year.
It was on 29 June 1985 that the Addis Hash ran its 100th run. The 500th run took place on 17 April 1993. The 1000th run milestone was reached on 31 August 2002. Run No. 1500 was on Jan 28 2012.
